Mystery/Thriller -- 3 1/2 stars
Joe Rickards investigates plane crashes. At his latest crash site, he finds two elderly men have died when their small private plane took off during bad weather. Why were two elderly men--one acting as pilot--flying under these conditions? When Joe finds out one of the men had just received a letter sent decades ago from South America, he has more questions. The granddaughter of one of the men wants answers, and they can only be found in the Amazon. ----- Conspiracies, aging Nazis, and a long lost letter all come together in a book that is pure escapism. Interesting characters, a plausible story line, and a full-on fantastical ending all scream "Make me into a movie!"
