WHERE THE DEAD WALK, by John Bowen

Ghost Story -- 3 stars

Kate Bennett hosts a TV show about paranormal activity.  She and her team investigate buildings supposed to be haunted, but
they have never really found a ghost.  When Sebastian Dahl contacts them about his house, it looks like that could change.  Unknown to Kate or her crew, Dahl has an ulterior motive--and it's not benign. ----- When the author identifies one of the characters as the "bad guy" within the first few pages, some of the fun is immediately lost.  How much more interesting it would be if Mr. Dahl's nefarious plot was exposed later in the book.  A ghost story with a bit of thriller mixed in, populated by stock characters.  The history that brings all these people together is interesting, but not enough to raise the story above average.
