THIEF RIVER FALLS, by Brian Freeman

Mystery/Thriller -- 4 1/2 stars

When best selling author, Lisa Powers, sees a small boy in her yard in the middle of the night, she is determined to help him.  The boy, muddy and terrified, can't remember his name or how he got there, but he knows he is running from something horrible.  As memories of his trauma begin to return, it becomes obvious that someone powerful will do anything to get the boy back, and now Lisa is a target too. ----- This everyone-is-a-suspect/everyone-is-a-friend twisting psychological thriller was on its way to a solid 3 star rating--solid if average who-dunnit story, comfortable dialogue, good pacing, interesting characters.  Then the final, totally unforeseen twist smacked me in the face, and made me cry.  Can't help but love a book that entertains, surprises and touches you all in 314 pages.
