BLUE MOON, by Lee Child

Mystery/Thriller -- 3 stars

Jack Reacher -- Book 24
The man who has turned peripateticism into an art form is on the move again.  This time, he stops an elderly man from being robbed and ends up in the middle of a city wide gang war, cleans up a loan shark operation, and searches for a multimillionaire he believes is at the heart of it all. ----- I stopped reading Jack Reacher books a while ago because the character at the center of the stories was beginning to wear on me.  This one kept popping up on book sites I visit, so I decided it was time for another go around.  Turns out Mr. Reacher is the same knight-for-right character, but in my absence he has become a lot more violent.  In my memory, Reacher solved problems with smart twists and bravado.  I lost count of the bodies about half way through this book.  At the same time, it had some humorous moments involving the two gangs who were clueless that Jack Reacher was their problem, not the gang from the other side of main street.  Some clever moments in an average story, but nothing to make me crave another Reacher story any time soon.
