UNSHELTERED, by Barbara Kingsolver
Literature -- 2 stars
Two families, two centuries, one house. The house is falling apart in 19th Century New Jersey, and the struggling family living there cannot afford to fix it. Somehow the house is still standing in modern New Jersey, and is still waiting to be fixed. ----- If you're going to write a book with a minimal plot, the characters better be super fascinating. Unfortunately, both families depicted here are as in need of a makeover as their choice of abode. Shallow and boring, Unsheltered left me unfulfilled.
