The Two Rivers Series - Book 1
Detective Matthew Venn has been estranged from his cultish and religious family for years, but a body is found on the beach near his home and he comes to believe it is tied in with young women missing from a day program for people with Down Syndrome--one of them a young woman in his mother's church. ----- So many prejudices, so many suspects, and a detective with doubts about all of them. I like this new Detective Venn and the way he works through the clues calmly and above the fray that spins just out of sight. The secondary characters are interesting and believable, some sympathetic, some less so--a realistic mix of people to populate this picturesque village. This is a new series by an established author, a series with lots of room to grow.
