A BETTER MAN, by Louise Penny, narrated by Robert Bathurst

Mystery/Thriller -- 5 stars
Audiobook Narration -- 5 stars

Inspector Gamache - Book #15
Book: A power play at Quebec police headquarters, a catastrophic flood, and a missing wife greet Inspector Gamache on his first day back from his suspension.  When the body of the missing wife is found in the flooded river, the questions just keep coming.  Was her death an accident?  A suicide?  When evidence begins to stack up against her abusive husband, Gamache promises the young woman's father that justice will be served, but keeping that promise is harder than the Inspector thought. -----  This series just keeps getting better, the stories deeper, the plotting more intricate.  The warm and familiar characters of Three Pines form a solid background for the members of the homicide squad while the gentlemanly Inspector Gamache himself continues his stolid and tenacious search for the truth.

Narration:  Robert Bathurst projects the perfect degree of urbanity and sophistication to bring Inspector Gamache to life. One of my favorite readers.
