THE NIGHT WINDOW, by Dean Koontz

Mystery/Thriller -- 5 stars

Jane Hawk - Book 5
In this final book of the Jane Hawk series, there are multiple blood pounding stories going on simultaneously.  Travis has been located by a petty crook through shear luck. The head of The Techno Arcadians is hunting human prey for sport, and government Techno Arcadians are closing in on Jane who has been joined by her FBI hacker friend who just may have an idea that will turn the tables in Jane's favor. ----- One of the strengths of this five book series, beyond a strong, resourceful female lead, is Mr. Koontz' creation of diverse and totally original secondary characters.  In this finale several of  them make repeat appearances that add to the sense of satisfaction and completion in a well imagined story.  My only disappointment (and it is minor) is that Jane's victory seemed muted after the hard-hitting track of her history.  I forgave Mr. Koontz because the solution was so incredibly clever.
