THE PERFECT COUPLE, by Elin Hilderbrand
Mystery/Thriller -- 3 stars
When two families mingle--the bride's a middle class family from Pennsylvania, and the groom's a rich globe trotting brood with a palatial estate on Nantucket--things are bound to be a little bumpy; but when the maid of honor is found dead on the day of the wedding, "bumpy" is a major understatement. As police chief Ed Kapenash sifts through the facts, he reveals a host of family secrets and plenty of suspects. The search for the truth is well written with interesting and humanly flawed characters. Where this book fails is the ending. It's like watching a beautiful souffle fall flat at the table. It's an interesting ride, and the result is logical, just not very fulfilling.
