Mystery/Thriller -- 4 1/2 stars
Finn and Layla are on vacation when they take a break at a highway rest stop where Layla disappears. Ten years later, Layla has been declared dead and Finn is engaged to Layla's sister Ellen. Then Finn begins to get mysterious messages that make him wonder if that declaration was premature. And is there more to Layla's disappearance than Finn told the police? A psychological suspense story with a "didn't-see-THAT-coming" ending. A story populated by three main characters who are well-drawn and surprisingly believable, and where each chapter tightens the noose a little bit more.
