Glass and Steele -- Book #5
The search for the doctor magician who can fix Matthew Glass' watch leads the team to a convent where the Mother Superior and two infants disappeared 27 years ago. Is this the end to the hunt begun in book one? And will Matthew and India finally come to an "agreement" before he is forced to marry his cousin? ----- Book 5 has all the twists and turns of the previous books, but adds a bit of physical excitement to the mix. Previous stories have always had a sheen of Victorian genteelness, a gentle arc to the end, which is upended in the climax here. The totally original and quirky characters still hold up, though they seem to take a more background place in this book which cost a half-star. Still an excellent series that must be read in the order written.
