Morgan Dane - Book #1
After her husband is killed in Iraq, Morgan Dane, a former prosecuting attorney returns to her hometown with her son. She is offered a new job with the local District Attorney's office, but turns it down when she decides to switch sides to defend her neighbor against the charge of murdering her babysitter. Instead, she joins with an old boyfriend, now part of a small P.I. firm, knowing that the only way she can save Nick is to find the real killer. The book is by no means bad, it's just predictable. Nick can't be guilty if the heroine is defending him, the high school flame will be rekindled, Morgan will live happily ever after. It's like candy floss for the mystery lover: enjoyable in the moment, but forgettable as soon as it's gone.
