PRETTY GIRLS DANCING, by Kylie Brant

Mystery/Thriller -- 2 stars

Years ago, Kelsey Willard disappeared from a small town in Ohio.  Investigator Mark Foster is pretty sure the Willard family wasn't entirely honest about their daughter's disappearance; but now another local teenager is missing, and he believes there is a connection.  With the exception of Kelsey's younger sister, Janie, who is a completely fleshed out and relatable young woman, this is a story populated by stock characters who could have been lifted from any variety of not-so-thrilling thrillers.  The ending lacks any real excitement.  It seems to have been written to create an "Oh!" moment, but with little underpinning it, it's more "So?"
