Shaker Heights, Ohio where everything is planned, everything is perfect, including the Richardson family. Then artist Mia Warren and her daughter, Pearl, move into the neighborhood and into the Richardson's lives. This is one of those books that is like watching a train wreck; you know what's coming, but averting your eyes is impossible. Beautifully and sympathetically written, this is a story that leaves a void in your soul when you get to the end. I loved her Everything I Never Told You, but this one will stick with me longer.
