Naturalist Series - Book #1
Professor Theo Cray is a computational biologist, more at home in front of a computer screen than in the field. When one of his former students ends up dead, the victim of a bear attack the police decide, he knows they're wrong and sets out to find the real killer. Fast-paced and fascinating, I like this Theo Cray character. The scientific explanations (necessary for understanding how Cray works) could have stalled the story, but instead were really interesting. The only weakness was the ending. Though not unsatisfying, it somehow seemed rushed to me. The second book in the series, Looking Glass, is due out next Spring. I'm looking forward to it.
