Mystery/Thriller -- 4 stars
A sequel to Thomas Benigno's first novel, A Good Lawyer (also excellent), Nick Mannino is back. Twenty years have passed and, despite his being born into a Mafia family, he is still fighting for the good guys. He and his partner/investigator are after a serial killer, and this time Nick's family is the target Loosely based on a real serial killer case, the action is suspenseful and populated by wholly believable, interesting characters with complex relationships. The title suggests that it's going to be a courtroom procedural, but the mystery predominates.
