The Sighting - Book 2
Two years ago, Danny Lynch saw the creature for the first time. The creature has moved on and Danny has followed clues to a new beach where he is determined to end its existence. This time he has help, if they can survive. In alternating chapters, Mr. Coleman reveals just how old this monster is. ----- This second installment in a classic 1950s monster/horror trilogy follows Danny's quest in modern day Virginia, but alternates it with a flashback story placed in 1584 Roanoke where Mr. Coleman offers an explanation for the lost English colony. While Mr. Coleman's contemporary style jars a bit with the setting, the Roanoke story is a good one with a satisfying conclusion. The contemporary chapters do a seamless job of tying new characters with those from the original book. The exciting ending with a twist has me looking forward to the final book in the trilogy, due in March.
