Jack McEvoy - Book 3
Crime reporter, Jack McEvoy, has given up on murder and is writing for a consumer website when he finds himself in the middle of a police investigation after his contact information is found on a murder victim. Being the nosy reporter that he is, he decides to look into the victim on his own only to discover there are more women, dead under the same circumstances, all of whom had done business with a certain DNA collection site. ----- Just when you think Michael Connelly, author of several ongoing mystery series (Harry Bosch, The Lincoln Lawyer, Renee Ballard...) will surely run out of inventive and interesting stories, he does it again. With the proliferation of businesses that analyze DNA today, this is the stuff of nightmares. What began years ago as a way to cover up a college scandal, turns into much more. Not as exciting as some of his novels, but a good, solid entry. Carefully parceled out clues lead to a logical and satisfying ending. Another determined hero, and a crime to make you wonder.
