First there was the virus that spread across the globe killing billions. Those who were left faced a world where governments had collapsed, where basic utilities no longer functioned, where life was primitive and dangerous. But many of the survivors had gained one thing--the ability to use magic. Unfortunately, not all the new "magickals" are on the side of good. ----- Definitely not your typical Nora Roberts mystery, this book grabbed me on page one and didn't let go. A mystery/thriller with a fantasy edge populated by complex characters fighting to survive in a world they no longer recognize. I couldn't turn pages fast enough.
