THE LAST GOOD GUY

Mystery/Thriller -- 3 stars

Roland Ford - Book 3
When Roland Ford is hired to find a young woman's missing sister, he thinks it's going to be a run of the mill runaway teen case.  He's wrong.  Instead he finds an high profile, evangelical preacher, Nazi skin heads, and a sister who may not actually be a sister at all.  Everybody is suspect, and nobody seems able to tell the truth. ----- A fast-paced book that reads like film noir--snappy, short sentences with no wasted words.   Roland Ford is a good hearted, decent-minded PI, straight out of of the last century.  Enough twists and turns to keep you turning pages, if the ending does get a little muddled in a way that seems slightly out of character with the clean, only-the-facts-please-ma'am feeling of the rest of the book.
