Book:  Someone is chasing elk with a drone.  When the drone's owner is traced to a hidden compound with guards and locked gates, Mr. Pickett is more than a little upset.  When the FBI shows up and threatens harm if his investigation is not stopped, Joe's refuses to back down.  But the FBI is the least of Joe's problems.  There's a pack of killers in town, and they're interested in the same locked compound. ----- This series revolves around Montana Game Warden Joe Pickett and his crusade to keep game sportsmen and women on the straight and narrow, so it was a little disappointing to find that this story--while it is excellent--could have been set in any urban setting without losing context.  The connection between the antagonists and the elk herds is minor at best.  I hope this isn't a new trend in the series.  Good story, but missing the element that has set this series apart from the masses.

Narrator:  David Chandler is the voice of Joe Pickett.  Clean, clear characterizations with good pacing.  Always a pleasure.
