THE SUBSTITUTION ORDER, by Martin Clark

Mystery/Thriller -- 3 1/2 stars

Kevin Moore, a once high-priced attorney, lost himself, his law practice, and his wife to cocaine.  He's trying to keep on the straight and narrow now in the hope that he can reclaim his law license and his life--if not his wife.  In the meantime, he is working a menial job at a sub shop named SUBstitution, where his day to day companions are a rescued mutt and a young computer whiz who seems to be his only friend.  When a customer makes an unusual request, Mr. Moore's days on the straight and narrow are put in peril. ----- Part thriller, part legal procedural, this is the story of one man fighting a corrupt organization with tentacles in the court and legal system.  Clever enough to be entertaining, predictable enough to be comfortable.
