THE FORGOTTEN HOURS, by Katrin Schumann

Literature, Mystery/Thriller -- 3 stars

Fifteen years ago, Katie Gregory's father was sent to prison for sexually assaulting her best friend.  Katie has never believed he was guilty; after all, she was there!  Now he is getting out, and he asks her to get their summer cabin ready for him to live there.  When memories and newly revealed secrets collide, Katie's comfortable life is put in turmoil. ----- The characters that populate this summer enclave are all recognizable.  We have all known them somewhere.  The situational coincidences (she runs into her first teenage crush, nine years later in NYC?) are a bit on the stretchy side, but the story as a whole works and has a nice, if not completely satisfying, ending.
