ELEVATION, by Stephen King
Horror -- 2 stars
Scott Carey looks the same as he has always looked. Nobody notices that he is losing weight--a lot of it. And nobody believes him when he says he weighs the same with his clothes on as he does with his clothes off. Mix in a couple of quirky neighbors and a best friend, and Scott decides to make a difference before he disappears completely. More an attempt to uplift than to frighten, this (very) short novel seems destined for the Saturday morning teen screen. Predictable and flat.
