DEAD ON ARRIVAL, by Matt Richtel

Dystopian -- 3 stars

As they prepare to land, Flight 194 can't contact the airport at a Colorado ski town, as a matter of fact, they can't contact anyone--the world has gone dark.  With no air control, they land to find everyone is dead--everyone except a small and very frightened little boy.  On board the plane is Dr. Lyle Martin, an infectious disease specialist and a young computer coding whiz who hides a secret history with the Dr.  Shortly after landing, the plane's passengers begin to die too.  Who is next?  And what does Google X, a division with unlimited resources have to do with the calamity? -----    I'm pushing the limit by calling this "dystopian."  With the galloping pace of social media, this could happen tomorrow.  I was expecting something more Robin Cook-like, so was a bit disappointed.  Still a quick paced, escapist story with a bit of "what if?" to lend it some gravitas.
