THE GIRL WITH NO NAME, by Lisa Regan

Mystery/Thriller -- 3 stars

Josie Quinn -- Book #2
When Detective Quinn is called to a large house just outside town she finds a young mother fighting for her life.  It is obvious she has recently given birth, but where is the infant?  The only clue is another young woman caught leaving the scene, but she claims she doesn't know who she is or why she is there.  With nothing more to go on than an amnesiac and a letter that seems to suggest this crime is connected to similar ones around the country, the fight is on to find the infant.  This is the third Jose Quinn book I've read, and while it's a good story it is the weakest of the three.  The pacing seems off (or maybe just forced?) and there is a little bit of "Oh, come on!" that stretches the credibility factor.  That being said, the question of what is actually going on is interesting enough to make this an entertaining if not mind-blowing read.
