A KILLER'S MIND, by Mike Omer

Mystery/Thriller -- 5 stars

Zoe Bentley - Book 1
As a teenager, Zoe Bentley believed she had proof that her neighbor was the man who was strangling young women using men's ties, but no one would listen. He disappeared and another teen was arrested, but Zoe never believed that boy was guilty.  Years later, in Chicago, someone is killing young women and then embalming them, leaving them in public places, posed so naturally that you can walk by them without realizing they're dead.  The women have all been strangled using something soft and smooth--like maybe a man's tie.  Tatum Gray is working the embalmer case when Zoe, now a forensic psychologist, is sent to work with him. Their working relationship is, as expected, rocky, but rocky with a sense of humor.  The humor is a welcome component of a gruesome story that flies.  This is a well written, taut, and "un-put-downable" page turner.  The last paragraph will have you looking forward to book two, available next year.
