SIMILAR TRANSACTIONS, A TRUE STORY, by S. R. Reynolds
True Crime -- 2 stars
Michelle Anderson was 15 when she disappeared in 1987. Sasha Reynolds, who lived in the same neighborhood as the Andersons, never forgot it. When she sees a story that Michelle's remains have been found, she begins an exhaustive search into the cold case. The result never quite gets off the ground. Maybe I've been spoiled by the exacting, well-paced writing of the late Ann Rule, but this story just seemed to drag; and the ending, though true, is ultimately unfulfilling.
