SALT TO THE SEA, by Ruta Sepetys
Historical Fiction -- 4 stars
Told in the voices of four teenagers who join a band of refugees trying to get to the coast and on a ship to escape Germany as World War II winds down. Based on the historical Operation Hannibal and the sinking of the Wilhelm Gustloff, the four characters are diverse, interesting, and sympathetic. I cared about them all.
