Mystery/Thriller -- 3 1/2 stars
A Commissario Guido Brunette mystery. Brunette is taking some time off to do some fishing and kayaking at a relative's estate. He is befriended by the estate's caretaker who conceals a secret that leads to his death. This was my first Guido Brunette mystery and I probably will read more. I loved the Venice setting. I liked the cozy and comfortable characters and I enjoyed their company. But it is always a major disappointment when the storyline points to the solution so obviously and so soon in the book.
