DEAD WAKE: THE LAST CROSSING OF THE LUSITANIA
Historical Fiction -- 4 1/2 stars
The Lusitania left New York, headed to Liverpool, on May 1, 1915. It is a well known story of maritime tragedy. Count on Erik Larson to make it more than a dry history lesson. With characters both real and imagined, he tells a well researched story of the Lusitania, a German U-boat, British intelligence, and war-time secrets. Even knowing the ending, I found myself holding my breath as the Lusitania's time ran out.
