ALL THINGS CEASE TO APPEAR, by Elizabeth Brundage

Mystery/Thriller -- 5 stars

George Clare has taken a position at a small college in a community where the economic divide--rich kids' school, poor kids' town--makes for an uncomfortable existence.  He and his wife purchase a house that was once part of a thriving dairy farm.  The three brothers who grew up there are watching.  When George comes home to find his wife dead and his 3 year-old daughter alone in the house, there are enough suspects to keep any small town police force busy.   Dark, foreboding, and well-paced with a nicely tied up ending.  A good read.
