Working in the Bodleian Library at Oxford, she inadvertently awakens an ancient manuscript--one that other witches have been hunting for centuries. Now that it's awake, she's pulled into a conflict between witches and vampires. ----- Had I read the cover description more carefully, I would never have read this book. By the time I realized vampires were involved (not a big fan of the bloodsuckers) I was already hooked. A complex story of family and magic filled with well-rendered, realistically flawed characters that holds its tension right to the cliffhanger ending. Loved it.
