Alex Hawk Time Travel Adventure - Book 1
Imagine finding a door behind a brick wall in your basement. Then imagine you stepped through that door into a world unlike anything you've ever seen. Then imagine again, that this is your world, only hundreds of years beyond your present. But why is it so primitive? ----- A few pages into this adventure story, I began to wonder if it was meant to be a YA novel. Only the fact that Alex Hawk is a divorced man with a small daughter belies that thought. Written in short, simple sentences with interesting if shallow characters, and with an entertaining if fairly predictable plot, this is the perfect vacation book. There is a message for today, but it is woven into the story in a subtle way that doesn't overpower. By the end, I was a fan of Mr. Hawk and will probably look for the next book when I'm in the mood for a quick, easy read.
