Bone Gap Travellers - Book 3
Brynn Callahan is an Irish Traveller living outside of the town of Bone Gap, Tennessee. She is also a town deputy sheriff which makes her suspicious to both sides of the fence. When body parts are found displayed in two different crimes, it is her job to find the person responsible, even if it leads to her own clan. ----- This is a formulaic police story seasoned with a look at the Appalachian Irish gypsy clan life. Those glimpses add a little color to a story featuring cookie cutter characters--alcoholic Brynn, the goodhearted trusting sheriff, and the fellow deputy who hates all Irish Travellers. This being the third in a series, there are some (maybe too many) references to previous cases that seemed as though they might be more interesting than the current case. Even the solution is tied to a town history that dulled the impact for an uninitiated Bone Gap reader like myself. This is a popular series, so maybe the first two books are necessary to fill in the gaps, but after this pedestrian experience I'm not in any hurry to backtrack.
