BLOODLINE, by Jess Lourey

Mystery/Thriller -- 3 stars

Joan Harken misses out on a promotion she was counting on, then she is mugged.  The choice is easy: give up her big city life to settle with her fiance in his small home town.  Lilydale sounds like the perfect place to raise the child she is carrying. Everything is picturesque, everyone is friendly...maybe a little too much. ----- One cup Rosemary's Baby, two tablespoons The Stepford Wives, stir until blended.  Still an enjoyable read, even if it's obvious from page one that Joan has made a big mistake.  The town's residents are cookie cutter good with a pure evil center, but Joan and another Lilydale newcomer are up to the task of outsmarting them.  An easy and simple good vs. evil story.
