BERKLEY STREET, by Ron Ripley

Ghost Story - 3 1/2 stars

Berkley Street - Book 1

Shane Ryan has finally gotten official ownership of his family home--a house that is alive and from which his parents disappeared 20 years ago.  He knows the house is responsible, and now he's determined to find the truth. ----- A clever twist on a haunted house story where the ghosts are (mostly) benevolent while the walls are the real threat.  Well paced with believable dialogue and just enough spookiness.  Good choice for a cold Halloween night's reading.  There are nine books in this series, and I won't hesitate to revisit it when the urge for a good, solid ghost story comes over me.
