MY GRANDMOTHER TOLD ME TO TELL YOU SHE'S SORRY, by Fredrik Backman

Literature -- 5 stars

Seven-year-old Elsa's grandmother is considered odd by her family and the people sharing her apartment building, but all Elsa sees is a free spirit with an unending supply of stories.  The two of them have an entire imaginary universe at their fingertips populated by fantastic characters and governed by rules of nature unheard of in our world.  When Elsa's grandmother dies, she leaves the little girl an envelope that sends her on a scavenger hunt where she finds that the imaginary world and her every day world really aren't that far apart after all. ----- Totally original, this is a feel-good book to love and share.
