KINGDOM OF THE BLIND, by Louise Penny, narrated by Robert Bathurst

Mystery/Thriller -- 5 stars
Audiobook Narration -- 5 stars

Inspector Gamache - Book #14
Book: Armand Gamache and two other people are called to a meeting in an abandoned farmhouse where they find they have been named as co-executors of the will of a woman none of them can remember meeting.  Why them?  Why not the woman's children?  And the contents of the will are even more perplexing.  The bequests are so completely unlikely to exist, that the Inspector cannot help but investigate the legitimacy of the will.  To his surprise, he discovers a legal battle that has been languishing in the courts since the last century. -----  Intricately plotted and populated by all the quirky characters of Three Pines, this is Inspector Gamache at his gentle, fact-finding best.  Somehow the Inspector always manages to bring a level of warmth and sophistication to a genre that generally lacks both.

Narration:  Mr. Bathurst adds the perfect degree of urbanity to make the Inspector and his work come alive.  Clear narration, easily delineated characters.  Another excellent "listen."
