The Kingfountain Series - Book 6
In this conclusion to the richly detailed fantasy epic, Trynne has taken her missing father's place as the king's adviser, Gahalatine's kingdom is in ashes, her marriage seems to be over before it has begun, and Fallon, her childhood friend, is in love with Morwenna who has been banished for her treason against the king, her brother. Into this tangle of threads comes a charge that Trynne has also betrayed the crown and the neighboring kingdoms are marching to destroy her beloved home. To prove herself to King Drew and to Gahalatine, and to protect her own people, she must use her magic, her warrior training, and her faith in the Fountain to save her father and unmask the shapeshifters who want to destroy her, which means traveling to another world with Fallon. ----- This is my favorite Jeff Wheeler series, and the ending does not disappoint with a totally immersive world (or two), multi-faceted characters, death, love, sacrifice, and reunions. A totally satisfying series. Read it from the beginning.
