Mystery/Thriller -- 5 stars
A novel within a novel. A small publishing company is surviving because of the books of one author. Now he is dead, and editor Susan Ryeland discovers that the last chapter of his final manuscript is missing. An incomplete novel and a search for the missing pages--two stories, one conclusion. Clever, well-paced, entirely believable characters, and a very satisfying ending.
