IN THE BLOOD, by Steve Robinson

Mystery/Thriller - 3 1/2 stars

A Jefferson Tate Genealogical Mystery - Book 1
A genealogist is hired to discover what happened to a branch of one family that seemingly disappeared in England during the American Revolutionary War.  Predictably, crimes were covered up and someone would like to keep them that way.  The story he uncovers is a good one, good enough that I cared more about the long-dead people than I did about Jefferson Tate himself.  Since this is the beginning of a series, that ambivalence could keep me away from future books. Then again, maybe not.
